The Authentic Simulation team has worked directly with Rush Auto Works to develop one of the most accurate racecars ever produced for Assetto Corsa. The Rush SR produces 145hp at the wheels with a 11,800 RPM redline, it features a no-lift auto blip paddle-shifted sequential transmission, and the entire 1130lb (513kg) package is capable of accelerating to 60mph in 3.3 seconds.
Last summer we visited the Rush Auto Works factory in Texas, where we toured the factory, took measurements, and then had a chance to test drive one of the cars in two separate test sessions at MSR Houston. The car was an incredible blast to drive, and it is always useful to drive a car before we then develop the physics. We were provided full access to all proprietary data, including the dyno sheets, AiM data from multiple tracks and drivers, manufacturer part performance details, and CAD files.
Once we programmed the car in Assetto Corsa, we then worked directly with a dozen owner-drivers who provided feedback on the beta, and helped us to refine the driving experience, default setup & options, and ensure the FFB is informative & accurate. Finally, we spent multiple hour+ long calls with the co-owner, Blair Hosie, working together on the car, to dial in such things as the tire physics code so that the laptimes and driving experience of the actual Rush SR is authentically replicated in our digital version.
